About HiLumy
HiLumy is a K–12 learning platform that turns passive video watching into an interactive learning journey. We combine carefully curated educational videos with an AI learning companion so students can pause, ask questions, and practice understanding in the moment.
Our vision
Our long-term goal is an AI-powered learning companion that grows with a child from elementary school to college. We want HiLumy to understand a student’s interests, strengths, and gaps, and then recommend the most helpful next steps. We build with care, acknowledging that AI isn’t perfect today, while designing the platform to become more personal, supportive, and effective as technology improves.
Why we built HiLumy
Kids already spend time on screens. We believe that time can be meaningful without feeling like homework. HiLumy helps children think while they watch by asking short questions, providing friendly explanations, and encouraging curiosity. For parents, it provides clear summaries of progress without ranking or pressure.
How it works
Each video is vetted for quality, age fit, and clarity. During viewing, the AI coach is always available to answer questions. After key moments or at the end, quick practice prompts help confirm understanding. All interactions can be summarized for parents so they know what their child learned and what to explore next.
